The Drainage Services Department will hold Open Days at Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works on October 15 and 16. Admission is free.
With the theme of “Blue-Green Infrastructure for You & Me” this year, the event will introduce the department’s work on flood prevention, sewage treatment and combating climate change.
It will cover key projects including the Relocation of Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns, the Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A, the Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme, and the Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of Kai Tak River.
There will be thematic tours, display panels, model exhibitions and game booths. Other highlights include stage performances, a fun area for kids, a family planting corner and photo-taking corners.
Free shuttle bus services will be provided during the open days from 9.30am to 4.30pm from University MTR Station bus terminus and Pai Tau Street in Sha Tin at intervals of 10-15 minutes.
