24 building plans approved

The Buildings Department approved 24 building plans in May - seven on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

 

Ten were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four for commercial developments, three for factory and industrial developments, and seven for community services development.

 

Consent was given for work to start on nine building projects that will provide 41,426 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 200 units, and 71,550 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department received notification of the start of work for 12 building projects. It also issued 20 occupation permits - three on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and 14 in the New Territories.

 

The buildings certified for occupation have 143,719 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,441 units, and 98,045 sq m for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of new buildings completed in May totalled $8 billion.
