Paul Chan to visit Myanmar

Secretary for Development Paul Chan will lead a delegation to visit Yangon, Myanmar tomorrow, until October 8, to promote co-operation between Myanmar and Hong Kong.

He will speak on co-operation in infrastructure and professional services at a luncheon organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry.

 

He will meet Yangon City Development Committee representatives, Hong Kong business people and professionals there to learn more about town planning and development prospects in Myanmar.

The delegation will also have talks with national business and professional sectors’ representatives on business opportunities and visit projects in Yangon, including the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa.

The delegation will include Government officials, LegCo member Tony Tse, representatives from the Economic Development Commission's Working Group on Professional Services and those from construction, legal, accounting and company secretary sectors.

During his absence, Under Secretary for Development Eric Ma will act as Secretary for Development.
