Waterworks reminder issued

August 31, 2015

The construction or installation of inside waterworks service must have the Water Authority's permission and be carried out by a licensed plumber as stipulated in the Waterworks Regulations, except minor alternations or repairs.

In response to media enquiries today, the Water Supplies Department said a circular letter issued recently aimed to remind people that all plumbing works using soldering for connecting copper pipes must have the authority's permission and be carried out by a licensed plumber.

The licensed plumber can employ workers to assist in carrying out the works if necessary.
