The Government will pay one month's rent for public rental housing tenants in August, benefiting about 710,000 tenants.
The Housing Authority said the Government will pay a month’s rent for normal public housing tenants.
The Financial Secretary announced a series of one-off relief measures in the Budget, including the rent waiver for public housing tenants. The Legislative Council Finance Committee approved the proposal last month.
The authority will notify all relevant tenants of the arrangement.
