The Housing Department is working on the implementation details of the Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Pilot Scheme, such as eligibility criteria, the price-setting mechanism, resale arrangements and site selection principles.
Acting Secretary for Transport & Housing Yau Shing-mu told legislators today the proposed implementation details, once mapped out, will be submitted to the Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee for consideration.
He said the committee will consider the green form applicants' affordability, the Housing Authority's financial capability, and equity across subsidised sale flat schemes.
The scheme can expand the types of subsidised home ownership and further reinforce the housing ladder, he said.
Apart from helping green form applicants achieve home ownership, based on the "one-for-one" concept, the scheme will also release existing public rental housing flats for allocation to families in need, he added.
