The Transport Advisory Committee has welcomed the Government's plan to launch the Public Transport Strategy Study.
Committee members were briefed by the Government today on the study's work plan.
They noted it will examine the respective roles and positioning of public transport services and look into important topical issues of the sector.
It will also examine ways to enhance the complementarity among various public transport services to ensure the public can enjoy efficient services with reasonable modal choices while allowing operators to enjoy sustainability.
Committee Chairman Larry Kwok said the study will aid the sustainable and healthy development of public transport services, and enhance the public transport system's strategic arrangements.
