The Transport & Housing Bureau says construction of the Shatin to Central Link will continue to facilitate and protect archaeological works.
In response to media enquiries, the bureau said today it would modify construction methods, re-arrange the order of works, and consider different options for station design to minimise impact and preserve any archaeological discoveries.
The MTR corporation has suspended works in the area where archaeological work is ongoing, and remains discovered at a site at To Kwa Wan Station have been properly protected, the bureau says.
Archaeological work may be completed by the third quarter of this year, and the Government will decide on preservation options for any finds after careful study and analysis.
