The Development Bureau says the Government has no intention of approving lease modification applications to remove the conditions relating to the Hong Kong Property for Hong Kong People measure within the validity period.
It made the statement in response to a newspaper report today that developers may remove the conditions by applying to the Lands Department five years after purchasing sites.
Under a pilot scheme, residential flats built on the sites subject to the Hong Kong Property for Hong Kong People measure can only be sold to holders of a valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card, it said.
The restriction is applicable to the first sale and subsequent re-sale of such residential flats within a period of 30 years from the date of the land grant, it added.
