MTR increases train services

November 15, 2012
The MTR Corporation will add 530 train trips to overall services each week in the third phase of service enhancement under its Listening ‧ Responding programme, bringing the total number of additional train trips a year to 62,000.

The enhancements will start on November 24. Tung Chung Line passengers will enjoy increased train services during non-peak and evening peak periods on weekdays as well as on weekends, while those taking the Kwun Tong Line and Tsuen Wan Line on Saturdays will find trains arriving more frequently.

MTR Chief Executive Officer Jay Walder said one of the goals of the Listening ‧ Responding programme is to ease crowding and reduce waiting time for passengers.

"We have done that by putting new trains into service and using our existing train fleet even more strategically to enhance capacity on the busiest lines during peak periods," he said.
