HK-Shenzhen reach consensus on loop

Hong Kong and Shenzhen authorities have reached a consensus on Lok Ma Chau Loop land-use planning, spatial arrangement, infrastructure and supporting facilities.
The consensus was agreed after the eighth meeting of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Joint Task Force on Boundary District Development in Shenzhen today.
Secretary for Development Carrie Lam and the Shenzhen Municipal Government Executive Vice Mayor Lu Ruifeng convened the meeting.
The two sides have formulated a recommended development plan and the second stage of public engagement will begin soon.
The target of opening some facilities in the loop in 2020 remains unchanged.
The detailed design for the site formation works of the Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point and the construction works of the control point connecting road will be completed by the middle of this year.
Both sides are confident of commissioning the control point no later than 2018.
