Mui Wo walkway, cycle path mooted

A notice proposing the construction of a segregated pedestrian walkway and cycle track along the waterfront between the Mui Wo Cooked Food Market and River Silver was published in the Gazette today.
The proposed works include constructing a footpath along the waterfront between Mui Wo Cooked Food Market and River Silver, a footbridge across River Silver, and amenity areas.
Other works include reclaiming government foreshore and seabed; permanently closing and converting a section of the existing carriageway, sections of the existing footpaths, the existing footbridge and the existing amenity area into sections of cycle tracks; permanently closing and converting sections of the existing footpath into amenity areas; temporarily closing and reconstructing a section of the existing carriageway, sections of the existing footpaths, a section of the existing cycle track and a section of the existing amenity area; and reinstating the seawall, landscaping, and drainage and utilities works.
The plan and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the Central & Western District Office, Islands District Office and District Lands Office/Islands.
Any objections to the works or their use, or both, should be sent to the Secretary for Transport & Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before July 3.
