The Drainage Services Department will hold its 2012 Open Day on March 3 and 4 at the Shatin Sewage Treatment Works.
Visitors can learn more about the department's efforts in flood prevention and the collection, treatment and discharge of sewage through tours, exhibits, and videos. The event will also include a family planting corner, an organic farm, a photo-taking corner, cultural and entertaining performances, computer animation games and game booths so that visitors can have an enjoyable weekend.
The day features several themes, including "Do it from the Heart", "Education in drainage services", "Innovative technology in drainage services", "Sustainable drainage services in Hong Kong". It will also spotlight the 30th anniversary of the Shenzhen River Regulation Project.
Free shuttle bus services will be provided at the pick-up areas near the bus terminus outside MTR University Station, at Pai Tau Street and at On Chun Street from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
