Experts to review building safety report

Secretary for Development Carrie Lam has appointed two independent experts to review the Buildings Department's report on its enforcement procedures and practices in relation to building safety.
 
The report was prepared in response to recommendations made by the Coroner after the Ma Tau Wai Road building collapse in January 2010.
 
The experts are former Polytechnic University Vice President Prof Ko Jan-ming and former Institute of Surveyors President Daniel Lam Chun.
 
The review will be completed in three months. The bureau will release the review findings to the public and the Legislative Council.
