Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan will visit Beijing from August 16 to 18 to forge closer ties with Mainland authorities on food safety and supply matters.
She will meet officials from the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection & Quarantine, and the Ministries of Agriculture and Commerce.
Prof Chan will also attend a Belt & Road meeting and call on officials from the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office.
Under Secretary for Food & Health Dr Chui Tak-yi will be Acting Secretary during Prof Chan's absence.
