A review is required on medical procedures following recent problems in hospitals.
Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan made the statement today in response to reports of an operation that was performed on the wrong side of a patient's brain and the improper prescribing of medicine to patients at two public hospitals.
“I think the system, the mechanism and also the entire healthcare team would have to take note of different issues and events,” she said.
It is important for the Hospital Authority, hospitals and healthcare professionals to be more aware of these issues.
