The Centre for Health Protection has learned of two human cases of avian influenza A (H7N9) in Sichuan.

A 60-year-old man from Pengxi County and a 48-year-old woman from Zhongjiang County are in critical condition.

The centre advises travellers to the Mainland or other avian influenza-affected areas not to visit wet markets, poultry markets or farms, and to avoid contact with poultry, birds and their droppings.
