Crab imports to be discussed

November 06, 2016

The Government hopes to meet with Mainland authorities to discuss the operational arrangements of hairy crab farms in detail.

Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man gave these remarks today, following the Government’s move to suspend imports and the sale of hairy crab after two samples were found to contain excessive dioxins.

He said they will also discuss the technical issues of testing for dioxin.

The Government is in close liaison with Mainland quarantine authorities and will announce the details on the meeting once available, he added.
