The Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload stood at 239,552 in September with a total of 351,164 recipients, the Social Welfare Department announced today.
The number of cases was 0.3% lower compared to August.
Low-earnings cases fell 2.1% to 5,514, unemployment cases fell 0.6% to 14,991, and single-parent cases fell 1% to 27,549.
Ill-health cases dropped 0.3% to 24,346 and permanent-disability cases dropped 0.2% to 17,665.
Old age cases remained steady at 145,000.
