Crabs pass safety check

October 07, 2016

Twenty-five hairy crab samples, collected at import and retail levels, have passed chemical tests.

The Centre for Food Safety said today the tests checked for veterinary drug residues, metallic contaminants, synthetic hormones and pesticide residues.

Despite the satisfactory results, the centre advised people to be careful when purchasing the seasonal delicacy.
