The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has raided five unlicensed food factories selling mooncakes online.
The raids were conducted in Sai Kung, Sheung Shui, Kwai Chung and Tai Po over the past month with the approach of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Prosecutions have been instituted against the unlicensed operators.
Under the Food Business Regulation, anyone found guilty of operating an unlicensed food factory faces six-months' jail and a $50,000 fine.
The department reminded people to pay attention to safety when buying food online.
