Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man says the Hospital Authority has a mechanism in place to cope with major disasters.
Speaking to reporters today, Dr Ko said when a disaster like a collapsed building occurs, the authority will send patients to different hospitals according to their condition.
He said 12 firemen were injured in the Ngau Tau Kok fire, two fatally.
He said all citizens and healthcare workers highly respect fire officers.
