Some types of medical procedures or investigations will inevitably be concentrated in a few centres and the service is provided to the whole public hospital system, Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man says.
Dr Ko told reporters today that the Hospital Authority is responsible for making sure specimens and test results are transported as efficiently as possible.
He was responding to calls for the Government to provide rapid flu testing equipment to all hospitals.
Regarding a flu death, Dr Ko said the Coroner’s Court will look into the case to find out what kind of investigation and care was provided to the patient.
