The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department was unable to issue a licence for pop star Leon Lai's concert run scheduled to start today, due to fire safety concerns.
The shows were booked to run until May 7 at the Central Harbourfront Event Space.
The department and other departments inspected the venue over the past two days but found its facilities did not comply with fire safety requirements.
Requirements on fire safety, structures, electricity and crowd management must be complied with to get a Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence.
