FarmFest 2016 opens

January 07, 2016

Farmfest 2016 opened today in Fa Hui Park, Mong Kok, featuring more than 370 stalls selling local agricultural and seafood products.

Following the theme of this year's Farmfest, displays have been set up to demonstrate the cultivation of different organic tomato, lettuce and cauliflower varieties and colours.

A simulated fish farm shows cultured fish species for those interested in aquaculture practices.

There is also a "nostalgic market street" which is lined with traditional shops selling local delicacies, and is modelled on the half-century-old wholesale markets run by the Fish and Vegetable Marketing Organisations.

FarmFest, the city's largest outdoor farmers' market, is one of the Appreciate Hong Kong campaign's 10 highlight programmes. Admission is free.

A free shuttle bus to the venue is available at Shek Kip Mei MTR Station Exit B1.
