Health chief to attend Macau joint meeting

Food & Health Secretary Dr Ko Wing-man today led a delegation to Macau to attend the 14th Joint Meeting of Senior Health Officials of the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau to discuss public health issues.

 

After attending a welcoming dinner tonight, he will address the meeting’s opening tomorrow and sign renewed co-operation agreement on response mechanisms for public health emergencies with National Health & Family Planning Commission Minister Li Bin and Macau's Social Affairs & Culture Secretary Tam Chon-weng. 

 

Senior health officials of the three places will discuss response mechanisms for large-scale public health emergencies, prevention and control of communicable diseases, tobacco control and community health.

 

The Hong Kong delegation comprises Director of Health Dr Constance Chan, Centre for Health Protection Controller Dr Leung Ting-hung and Hospital Authority representatives.
