Rice dumplings pass food safety tests

Ninety rice dumpling samples passed recent Centre for Food Safety tests, the centre reported today.

 

The centre collected samples from restaurants, food factories and other retail outlets. They were tested for colouring matters, preservatives, metallic contamination, pesticides and bacteria.

 

Rice dumplings in general are relatively high in energy, fat and salt, the centre said. It advises people to avoid eating too many, and to read nutrition labels.
