An inter-departmental drill on emergency response to flooding in Tai O was held today.

The Islands District Office, the Fire Services Department, Police, the Hong Kong Observatory, the Drainage Services Department, the Social Welfare Department, the Housing Department, the Civil Aid Service, and district organisations took part.

It allowed them to familiarise themselves with the response plan, to act swiftly to evacuate residents and minimise the impact caused by flooding when the Hong Kong Observatory issues an early alert.
