Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man has expressed concern over the health of the hawker control officer critically injured at the weekend.
Speaking to the media today, Dr Ko said the officer’s condition remains critical and doctors will do all they can to help him.
He said the Director of Food & Environmental Hygiene met department staff yesterday to discuss enhancing training and support for them, adding he hopes the incident does not affect staff morale.
On the Yan Chai Hospital incident in which a woman died after surgeons reportedly left a stent in her artery after heart surgery, Dr Ko said the Hospital Authority will investigate the claim and submit a report to the Government.
