More than 5,000 runners joined the first Hong Kong Games' Vitality Run along the Shing Mun River in Sha Tin today.
The run was introduced as a new element of the Hong Kong Games this year, to allow more people to join the Games with their families and friends, and emphasised challenging oneself rather than racing for awards.
The run had a 3km and an 8km route, and those who completed the run within the time limit received a certificate and a medal.
Runners with the most creative costume and the overall best team costume were also awarded.
A carnival was also held at the nearby Yuen Wo Playground to promote the upcoming Hong Kong Games.
