The Centre for Health Protection has announced that from noon yesterday to noon today, nine new severe adult influenza cases were recorded, including five deaths.
Another death was recorded among the previously reported cases.
It brings the total number of severe adult cases to 300, including 210 deaths. Among them, 288 were A(H3N2), six were B and six were A pending subtype.
No new severe children's cases were recorded over the period.
The centre urged people to stay vigilant, get vaccinated early, and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.
