The Centre for Food Safety has found excessive pesticide residue in a sample of baby Shanghai greens and is following up on the case.
It was collected at import level.
It contained carbofuran at a level of 0.2 parts per million, 10 times the maximum residue limit.
Based on this level, eating a normal amount of the vegetables is unlikely to cause adverse health effects, the centre said.
It reminded consumers to rinse and soak vegetables before eating them to reduce any pesticide on the surface.
