Additional Mainland H7N9 case reported

December 04, 2014

The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring an additional human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Fujian.

Mainland health authorities say the 27-year-old man's case was confirmed yesterday and he is in serious condition.

All boundary control points in Hong Kong have implemented disease prevention and control measures, including checking inbound travellers’ body temperatures by thermal imaging systems.

Suspected cases will be immediately referred to public hospitals for tests.

The centre called on the public to maintain good personal, food and environmental hygiene during travel.
