Nine items failed Centre for Food Safety tests for chemicals, bacteria and radiation in October, representing a pass rate of 99.9% for the 9,300 samples checked.
About 2,800 food samples were tested for chemicals, 900 underwent microbiological tests, and the remaining 5,700 were tested for radiation levels.
The samples included vegetables and fruit, meat and poultry, seafood, dairy products, cereals and grains.
The centre reminded the trade to ensure that its food is fit for consumption and meets legal requirements, while consumers are advised to buy their food only from reliable shops.
