The Centre for Food Safety has found excessive pesticide residue in a Chinese wolfberry leaf sample from a local farm.
It was found to contain cypermethrin at a level of 8.7 ppm, about four times the maximum residue limit.
The centre said, based on the level of pesticide residue detected in the sample, it was unlikely to cause adverse health effects under normal consumption.
It reminded people to rinse and soak vegetables before consumption to reduce any pesticide residue on the surface.
