In addition, 27 new cases of AIDS were reported in the quarter, bringing to 1,524 the total number of confirmed AIDS cases reported since 1985.
The centre’s Special Preventive Programme consultant Dr Wong Ka-hing stressed the importance of proper condom use as sexual transmission remains the major mode of HIV transmission.
He also urged people with a history of unsafe sex to call 2780 2211 for a free, anonymous and confidential HIV test.
