The Commission on Poverty held a meeting to discuss retirement protection today and decided to conduct a public consultation to collect and consolidate views on the issue from different social sectors.
Members exchanged initial ideas on the framework, issues to be covered, and the format of the exercise.
They were briefed by Retirement Schemes Association Chairman and former Head of the Global Pensions Practice under the World Bank's Social Protection Department Yvonne Sin on the concept of the World Bank's five-pillar model on retirement protection.
Head of the Asian & Policy Studies Department of the Institute of Education Prof Chou Kee-lee also presented his views on the reform proposals for Hong Kong's retirement protection.
