The Department of Health is monitoring five newly reported Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases in Saudi Arabia, including two deaths.
The patients, aged 42 to 82, include four men and a woman.
Two had contact with previously confirmed patients. Two had contact with animals, while one had consumed raw camel milk.
To date, 909 laboratory-confirmed MERS cases have been reported to the World Health Organisation globally, including at least 331 deaths.
The department advises travel agents organising tours to the Middle East not to arrange camel rides and activities involving camel contact, which may increase the risk of infection.
