Contaminated ham recalled

October 20, 2014

The Centre for Food Safety urges people not to consume two kinds of cooked and chilled ham and mortadella manufactured in Italy and contaminated with listeria.

The products are Fumagalli Organic Cooked Ham and Fumagalli Organic Mortadella, weighing 70g. Their use-by date is October 16, 2014.

The centre received notification from the Rapid Alert System for Food & Feed of the European Commission that samples of the products concerned were contaminated with the pathogen. About 11kg of the affected product has been imported to Hong Kong.

The centre has learned from City'Super, the importer concerned in Hong Kong, that the affected products have been taken off the shelves.

Consumers can call the company's hotline 2736 3866 for enquiries.
