The Civil Aid Service today held a mountaineering safety promotion day with several government departments and mountaineering organisations, to boost people's knowledge and help to reduce accidents.

Mountaineering equipment, such as digital maps, global positioning system devices, night vision goggles and weather maps, were displayed.

Mountain rescue and casualty handling skills were also demonstrated.
