The Government has banned the import of all animal oils from Taiwan and ordered a product recall, after more Taiwanese companies were found to be using sub-standard oil.
Briefing the media today, Centre for Food Safety Controller Dr Gloria Tam said Taiwan authorities have issued lists of problematic products manufactured on or after February 25, which involve lard and other animal oil.
However, the centre believes that products manufactured before February 25 may also have problem.
It will seek advice from the Department of Justice to decide if a food safety order is required.
