The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department has found Legionella bacteria in seven fresh water cooling towers.
The department tested 84 water samples collected from cooling towers in 72 buildings in August.
Seven samples contained bacteria counts at or above the upper threshold of 1,000 colony-forming units per millilitre.
The department has issued nuisance notices to the building owners and ordered disinfection work.
