Contaminated drinks

Contaminated drinks:  These bottled bean milk products have been recalled after failing Centre for Food Safety tests.

Bean milk drinks recalled

August 14, 2014

Two types of bottled bean milk have been recalled after failing Centre for Food Safety tests.

They were found to have been contaminated with the pathogen Bacillus cereus.

Locally produced by HealthWorks, they are Pre-germinated Organic Soybean Drink with Brown Rice and Organic Black Bean Drink of 500ml. Their use-by dates are August 13.

The centre urged consumers who bought and still possess the products not to consume them.

The centre took samples of the products for testing in response to a media report.

It issued a warning to the manufacturer, which has suspended sale and production of the products and initiated a recall.
