The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department is investigating the abnormal death of chickens at a farm in San Tin, Yuen Long.
About 1,000 chickens have died and initial test results show they were not infected with avian influenza.
The department was informed by the farm owner today that his chickens have been dying since yesterday.
Sale of chicken from the farm will be suspended until the cause of death is ascertained.
