The Department of Health has ordered the recall of a batch of proprietary Chinese herbal tablets, Bioslim, which have been found to exceed the bacterial limit.
The department today instructed Bioslim’s registered holder Womelis Company to recall the product, following an investigation into a public complaint.
The Public Health Laboratory Centre confirmed a sample from Bioslim batch number 865012 had a total bacterial count seven times above the registration criteria.
No adverse reports have been received so far, and the department has instructed the recall as a precautionary measure.
It urged people who feel unwell after taking the product to stop using it and seek a doctor’s advice.
