Incoming travellers to receive Ebola notice

August 02, 2014

The Department of Health will give a notice about the Ebola virus to all incoming travellers holding passports issued by the three affected West African countries - Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man announced today.

Speaking to the media after attending a public function, Dr Ko said the notice would direct them to present themselves to the Port Health Office if they have developed relevant symptoms upon arrival. If they have no symptoms, the notice would also let them know what to do should they subsequently develop symptoms.

He added the Security Bureau and the Centre for Health Protection will display a message on their websites advising citizens against unnecessary travels to the three  affected countries.
