Video contest to promote volunteerism

June 01, 2014

The Social Welfare Department’s steering committee on volunteer service promotion has launched a video contest with the overall aim of influencing others to volunteer to help care for those in need.

The competition has two categories, one for full-time secondary school students in Hong Kong, and another for Hong Kong residents aged 16 or above.

Videos should be between 30 seconds and two minutes in length, and may include text, images, acting or multimedia elements. Ideally, the videos will capture special and mutually beneficial moments between volunteers and those they are helping.

Judging criteria will be based on whether the content promotes the volunteering theme, its creativity, impact, and artistic aspect.

All participants will get a volunteer movement souvenir, and winners will get certificates and electronic product gift coupons.

The contest is now accepting applications online and the deadline for submission is September 22. For details and online application, click here.
