The Centre for Health Protection was notified last night of an H7N9 case in Taiwan.
The 44-year-old woman, from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, fell ill upon her arrival in Taiwan on April 17.
She visited a local clinic on April 17 and was hospitalised on April 19.
Lab tests confirmed she had avian influenza last night. She is in serious condition.
