Police arrested a 43-year-old woman today for selling Slimup Extra – a slimming product containing undeclared and banned drugs.
It was being sold via a smart-phone app.
The Department of Health found the product contained two banned drugs, sibutramine and phenolphthalein. Sibutramine can increase cardiovascular risk while phenolphthalein can cause cancer.
Anyone who bought the product should stop using it immediately and consult a doctor if they feel unwell.
