The Department of Health is closely monitoring two additional cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, involving a 56-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man.
Saudi officials told the World Health Organisation the woman fell ill on February 12 and was hospitalised on February 22. She had no known contact with animals or confirmed patients. The man had had contact with a previously confirmed patient, but has no reported symptoms.
This brings the latest global number of confirmed MERS cases to 191, including 82 deaths.
